Procurement Champions Network
The next Procurement Champions Network event is on the 15th September commencing at 10.30 (with coffee from 10.00) in London. The event will be on the need to reduce the carbon footprint of public services delivered by the third sector and to adapt them to the impacts of climate change.
Speakers Include:
- Chris Large of Global Action Plan will lead delegates through an interactive exploration of how climate change might impact on the beneficiaries’ civil society works with and on sector’s capacity to respond to this changing need.
- Maria Adebowale (TBC) the CEO of Capacity Global look at the interplay between the impacts of climate change and social justice and social inclusion in the UK.
- Brian Watts the CEO and Pat Kenney the chair of the service user’s council from Equinox Care will talk about how the charity has worked with the users of its drug treatment and mental health services to practically transform the charities performance and implement sustainability across their services.
- Dave Hobday of Merton VSC will look at how his organisation has championed sustainability amongst the third sector in its borough and how this example is being taken up by organisations at the sub-regional and regional levels.
