New LEPs - 56 areas submit proposals
A full list of the areas that have submitted proposals for local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) has been published on the Communities and Local government website. Ministers seem likely to look favourably on those that have taken seriously the government’s encouragement to ignore traditional regional and local authority areas and focus instead on ‘natural economic boundaries’. Responding to pressure from NAVCA members, Greg Clark, Minister for Communities and Local Government, made it clear that the government recognises the economic contribution of the voluntary and community sector and that our involvement in LEPs would be welcome.
