Two important publications for PCT commissioners and providers
Two important publications for PCT commissioners and providers have been updated by the Department of Health this month.
- Principles and Rules for Cooperation and Competition sets out the principles and rules which the Department of Health expects commissioners and providers of NHS services to follow to ensure co-operation, while protecting competition. It includes obligations regarding fair commissioning.

This guide provides guidance on using procurement to identify the best placed provider, while ensuring compliance with the law.
